Whether you have a summer party to go to or you are looking for amazing wedding guest dresses, you can get some great inspiration from the celebrities. Here is the low down on our favourite celebrity style for summer 2011.
Kelly Brook’s Style
Kelly Brook is a regular on the red carpet and always looks immaculate and polished with her long dark hair and amazing figure. She definitely knows how to pick out the best clothes to compliment her curves. She started off her career wearing a barely there pink sparkly dress to the Snatch premier back in 2000, perhaps not that stylish but definitely attention grabbing. Since then her style has evolved into a much more sophisticated look. She is often seen wearing pieces by her favourite designers but she is also not afraid of wearing high street clothes as well. It would be difficult to pin point just one style for Kelly Brook as she is constantly changing from cute retro to glamorous and sophisticated. She loves wearing red, black and greys and always opts for feminine and ladylike dresses. She also often wears bodycon dresses which really flaunt her figure.

Jennifer Lopez is another celebrity whose style has evolved over the years from her trademark velour tracksuits and hoop earrings to a much more sophisticated look with plenty of beautiful celebrity dresses. Another celebrity who also knows how to work the red carpet, she is clearly no longer ‘just Jenny from the block’. Jennifer Lopez is famous for her beautiful glow and her choice of nude, cream and white dresses compliment her skin tone perfectly. In recent years she has begun to wear some really beautiful and elegant dresses including the floaty jewel encrusted Zuhair Murad dress that she wore to the Met Ball. You can Jennifer’s style with soft floaty chiffon dresses in nude colours accessorised with perhaps just a little animal print!
Kate Middleton’s Style
One person who is going to be very much in the public eye over the next few weeks and who is also much admired for her style is Princess to be, Kate Middleton. Ever since the announcement of the royal engagement at the end of last year, we have become obsessed by what Kate wears. She has a very simple and elegant style and favours dresses witha classic cut and mid length skirts. Her outfits do however usually have a modern twist to them. One of Kate’s most recognised looks is the blue dress that she wore for the announcement of the engagement. Kate is probably the best celebrity to watch for inspiration for wedding guest dresses as she is often photographed at formal occasions. She often wears beatifully draped pieces like chiffon dresses. You can get her look with this elegant blue dress by Lipsy.
Don’t forget to check out the celebrity dresses and wedding guest dresses at the royal wedding on 29th April for some more great style inspiration.

Wow! hasn’t Emma Watson blossomed into a fine young lady? here she is wearing a beautiful Draped Velvet one shoulder cocktail dress by revived French Label Vionnet. She’s also sporting her new look which we think is sensational, and with the luxurious Velvet fabric making a lavish comeback she is Uber trendy too.
To me and most likely the rest of us, it doesn’t seem such a long time ago that Emma appeared in the very first Harry Potter film as Hermione Granger at the tender age of nine. But with several blockbusters behind her that any actor would be proud of, she has the world at her feet at the tender age of only 20.
However with Emma’s notoriety, she has lately become the target of not only the paperazzi but of the fashion press too, and is regarded as somewhat of a fashionista with her celebrity endorsement of the ethical fashion brand People Tree. Regularly papped at various Red Carpet events around the globe, her fans and the fans of fashion alike are eager to discover what creations she will be wearing.
By the evidence of the image above no the wonder she so popular as she looks just sensational as she’s seen here premièring her new look at the swanky Claridge’s hotel, an event to celebrate Warner Brothers acquisition of Leavesden Studios who make the Harry Potter film franchise. Her pixie style hair which we thinks suits her so well, and her fair skin contrasting with Deep red lipstick, she looks all women and not the kid we’ve become accustomed to seeing in the movies.
The dress itself is a stunning velvet and satin one shoulder cocktail dress by Vionnet the French haute-couture brand. Originally Established by Madeleine Vionnet in Paris back in 1912, The brand which had recently lost its way, has been giving a whole new impetus with its acquisition In 2008 by Italian entrepreneurs Matteo Marzotto and Gianni Castiglioni. They have vowed to re-create the Vionnet heritage brand whilst building a modern fashion house with the elegance and sophistication of the original Vionnet brand at its heart. Other than Emma Watson, the brand has some very famous celebrity clients such as Cameron Diaz, Carey Mulligan and Catherine Zeta-Jones to name a few.
The cocktail dress that Emma is wearing of course is so hot, it combines a number of trends which are so of the moment such as Velvet, Draping and of course the ever popular one shoulder dress style. There’s no better way to get inspiration for your party Dress than to look at what celebrity dresses are out there and Emmas Asymmetrical cocktail Dress is a prime example.
Now we may not have Emma’s budget to indulge in our fashion fantasies, but as always with Party Dresses we try to draw inspiration from haute couture brands and the catwalk to give you more affordable alternatives.

This Love Label One Shoulder Velvet Dress is so on trend this season, the plush fabric and the daring bodycon design makes this dress an head turning evening dress. The clever design of this dress with its bandage style velvet ribbons and one shoulder twist emphasises your curves while the sheer fabric pulls the look together. The dress has gentle ruche detail for added texture. For a rock chic look, pair with statement cut-out heels and sheer tights with and a matching clutch for a classy evening combo.
Another classic look is the One Shoulder Velvet Tuck Sleeve Dress, a Stunning one shoulder velvet dress with gathered detail on the sleeve. It’s perfect party dress when worn with sky high heels and a sequinned clutch, the perfect body con cocktail dress with a twist.
Finally we come to the Draped beaded dress By Karen Millen, this One shoulder draped jersey dress has contrast silk panels and hand embellished fringe detail to shoulder with an asymmetric hem. Despite not being Velvet it instead offers the draping whichis very popular trend at the moment and featured on Emma’s dress to such great effect.
Heidi one of the founder members of the all girl pop group Sugababes performed live last week with the group at the V festival in Chelmsford and the West Midlands. The V festival has become legendary for its great music line up but like so many of the other UK festivals fashion and what everyone is wearing has also become a key focus with summer dresses and welly boots being a popular choice.
She chose to wear the Celia Peacock Dress by Motel Rocks (pictured above), a short bodycon dress with an eyecatching digital print. The dress is available in red or blue and has a futuristic look to it with the brightly coloured and distorted abstract print. It also has a cutout back panel with a mesh material for a slightly Goth feel. The dress works really well as a party dress due to its ability to cling in just the right places. Follow Heidi’s lead by teaming this body con dress with tights and killer heels for a really sexy look. The dress can also be dressed down with work boots and a leather jacket for a much more casual look.
Heidi and the other Sugababes often wear bodycon styles and mini dresses. Heidi combines high street and designer clothing for a fun and stylish look that is very much a part of the Sugababes trademark. Heidi admits to keeping herself in shape by working out and exfoliating her skin regularly to ensure she looks her best in the revealing clothes that she wears on stage. She is also big fan of fake tan to give herself a healthy glow.
Digital prints like the one featured in Heidi’s Motel Rocks dress are big news this year and have been seen all over the catwalks including at shows like Peter Pilotto and Alexander McQueen. The bright colour and abstract designs are perfect for interesting and eye catching dresses.
Motel Rocks also has a range of other Party Dresses featuring eye-catching graphic digital prints.
The Motel Emerald Dress is also available in red and blue and looks absolutely stunning for the evening with a pair of heels. This body con dress nips in at the waist and has a a flattering tulip skirt. It also has a great plunging neckline and bodice style top.
The Motel Jean dressin Peacock purple combines a flattering black skirt with an eye catching graphic print on the top half. It is great for both daytime and evening wear and can even be worn to the office.
The Motel Belinda Tiger Dress is a colourful version of a tiger print for a wild party dress look. It is another body con dress this time with shoulder pads to enhance the shape. It can be worn on its own with wedge heels or with a pair of denim shorts for a more casual look.
The value-for-money retailer Peacocks who have had a long history of having some great fashion collections at rock bottom prices have come up with another fabulous collection and one that has been hotly anticipated. It is that of the Pearl Lowe Autumn and Winter 2010 collection launched On Sunday.
We have to say that on first inspection it certainly lives up to it’s hype, and while the Pearl Lowe association is quite established by now, this collection has been leaked as the best yet.
Of course Pearl Lowe has been a designer of Dresses, interiors and fabrics and has gradually developed her own brand after here initial career as a singer and song writer. Her initial clothing ranges were sold in the Exclusive London Department store Selfridge’s, and since then has branched into interiors and fabrics. Her association with Peacocks has been for about 4 years now, and has been successful enough to maintain a healthy following, and the reports of queues at branches of Peacocks to be one of the first to grab one of the pieces is only testament to that popularity.
Pearls signature look can said to be Gothic-esque, featuring dark colours and Lace, but her collection for Peacock is actually quite eclectic but covers all the on trend fashions that are either established or emerging, such as animal print, lace and vintage looks, in fact Pears inspiration for this collection draws heavily from the Golden glamour days of Hollywood tapping in t rich fashion seam of the moment, another reason why this collection is likely to be popular are the prices which start from as little as £10.00!
Key pieces in the collection are undoubtedly the dresses which are quite simply great and ideal for the Christmas Party.
Probably the stand out Party dress from the collection is this wonderful Pearl Lowe Animal Print Shift Dress, tapping into the big trend for animal print which has been pioneered most recently by the Balmain and No21 catwalk shows.
This Pearl Lowe Lace Collar Dress again taps into two trends, not only Lace which is so big currently, but also the retro look especially with the classic 1950’s look brought about by the “madmen” craze. But an unusual twist to a Little Black dress.
Perhaps this Pearl Lowe Chiffon Frill Dress is nearer to a traditional party dress. A wonderfully feminine dress with the soft frill detailing being so luxurious and reminiscent of the hollywood glamour that Pearl has used as inspiration for he A/W10 collection.
