When it comes to finding great party dresses for the autumn, winter or even Christmas (yes it is only a few months away), Lipsy always has a great selection of stylish choices which are perfect for girls who want to have fun. Following hot on the heels of the success of the spring summer Pixie Lott collection, Lipsy have just launched the 2nd Pixie Lott collection for autumn and winter 2010, filled with the perfect Christmas party dresses and lots more besides.
The collection features 25 pieces in both the Pixie Parties and Pixie Rocks styles. The party dresses are inspired by Pixies own style and also by her style icons past and present. Pixies own style is a combination of quirky, feminine and rock chic the ideal look for a party. Her own on stage outfits and off stage looks have inspired so many fans and followers to try and get her style and the Lipsy collection is the perfect way to do this. The dresses are all great prices making them suitable for most budgets.
The Pixie Rocks capsule collection includes leather biker jackets and tasselled leather skirts. A look for girls who really want to rock. For those looking for a more elegant but trendy take on Pixies style, there is also a full length jumpsuit. One of the boldest feature pieces of the collection is a luxurious and glamorous Dalmation fur print coat which is much more stylish than Cruella De Ville’s ever was.
In the Pixie party range there is clear evidence of some of Pixies style icons which include Bridget Bardot with her 50’s inspired prom dresses. The look is for those who want to look polished and sophisticated which is ideal for a slightly more formal Christmas party or event. The Pixie Party collection includes elegant evening dresses featuring lace detail, satin bows, layering and plunging backs. The collection includes something for everyone with a colour scheme of nudes, creams and dusky pinks contrasted by bright and bold prints and plenty of black which is just amazingly versatile for so many different occasions.

Summer festivals are a bit like one big long party and they definitely need a very specific type of party clothes. If you are lucky enough to have tickets to any of the big festivals (or smaller more intimate ones) this summer, then you should put in some careful thought about what you will be wearing. With the Coachella festival in the US already over, you can always check out the street style pictures for inspiration and to see which festival fashion is going to be big news this year.
And with this weekend marking the start of the summer festival season with the fist event of the summer BBC radio one’s big weekend in Carlisle, its a great introduction to what people are wearing this for summer festival fashion especially as its going GaGA crazy this year, you can see the whole event live streamed here.
If you are going to a festival, despite being all excited about the whole adventure, you will need to consider the practicalities of festival going, mainly the weather. If it is hot you will need to dress to keep cool and keep the sun off you, but if it is wet you will need to be prepared for a lot of mud. Festivals are a great place to show off your individuality and pretty much anything goes as long as you will feel comfortable wearing it.
Whatever you choose to wear to a festival, it should not be something that you would be really upset about ruining. Save your expensive designer clothes for another day and consider investing in jumpsuits, cheap maxi dresses or beach dresses that can be worn with either boots or sandals depending on the weather. Denim shorts are also a good choice for festivals if the weather is hot but are also a practical choice with a pair of hunter wellies if the ground is particularly muddy.
At Coachella this year some of the key looks included seventies inspired floral maxi dresses worn with floppy hats, the lace dress (spotted on Katy Perry, Alexa Chung and Whitney Port), asymmetrical hemmed dresses and loose fitting or cropped t shirts. Although some of these looks seem quite casual, they can be coverted to festival party clothes with just a few simple accessories. Bold and bright prints were also popular with anything from a leopard print dress to abstract tribal print or tie dye fitting the bill perfectly.
Hair flowers, tribal jewellery, hats, headbands, belts, socks and fringed bags were everywhere. Just one or two carefully chosen accessories can transform cheap maxi dresses into something amazing or a beach dresses into a fabulous festival outfit. Sun hats are also particularly useful for protecting yourself from the sun. Don’t forget some shades to complete the rock and roll look and keep the sun out of your eyes so that you can see your favourite band.
Here are some of my picks of the best festival fashion out there from cheap maxi dresses to beach dresses and fabulous fun accessories.

The red carpet season is upon us and not only is it great fun to check out the celebrity party dresses and what everyone is wearing,we can also get inspiration on party wear for the season ahead. With the Grammys, Oscars, BAFTA’s and the Brit awards all going on, there is guaranteed to be some amazing evening dresses on show.
The Grammy’s were a truly glittering affair with the biggest stars of the music industry walking the walk in their red carpet dresses. From Lady Gaga arriving in an egg to Emma Watson in her neutral coloured asymmetrical dress, there was something for everyone from the bizarre to the very beautiful. With both Natalie Portman and Jessica Alba both expecting babies, they also proved that it is entirely possible to look amazing in a red carpet party dresses with a baby bump. Jessica Alba looked stunning in electric blue.
At the Brit awards Cheryl Cole arrived in a show stopping Stella McCartney sequin dress with a thigh high split. She took the unusual choice of wearing nude shoes instead of black and it really worked making her legs look super long.
Rhianna also made a big entrance with a very colourful concoction of an evening dress in purple and turquoise teamed with her red locks that definitely got every one’s attention although it attracted very mixed opinions. The dress was by Christian Dior Couture. Avril Lavigne proved she is a real rock chick even when it comes to red carpet dresses with a full skirted little black dress and neon streaks in her long hair. If you love the retro look, you will love Sophie Ellis Bextor’s choice of red polka dot prom dress. Lisa Snowdon opted for an eye catching pop of colour in a neon yellow asymmetrical mini dress. Jessie J also rocked the red carpet in a thigh skimming Vivienne Westwood Couture corseted dress.
If you want to get a bit of that red carpet style and wear amazing celebrity party dresses, it can sometimes be difficult to find your favourite looks without the celebrity budget. That is why we are so excited about McBerry, a great place to find celebrity party dresses at great prices.
This beautiful cut out pleated skirt dress is almost identical to the one worn by style icon Cheryl Cole. Follow Cheryl’s lead and wear it with a ladylike and glamorous up do.
Emma Watson is one of the most admired celebrities at the moment. As the new face of Lancome, model for Burberry and part of a collaboration with People Tree everyone wants to know what she is wearing. This lace and feather dress is identical to the one she wore, one of the most wanted celebrity party dresses of the season.
With her own fashion label Danni Minogue is definitely one to follow in the style stakes. This glittering gold and silver dress is just like the one that she wore for the Marie Claire cover shoot. It has also be worn by Cameron Diaz and Carmen Kass.
